Instructions
“How does voting impact the people you love?
Who do you love that will be impacted by your vote? Are there people you love who aren’t able to vote because they’re too young, not yet born, not yet citizens, or are incarcerated? Do you have loved ones who’ve since passed away that your vote will be in honor of?
Let’s represent our loved ones in this installation: write on the back of a piece of paper the name of someone you love for whom your vote will matter. Please feel free to write more about why you will be voting with this person in mind. Then fold the paper into a heart following the instructions provided. An assistant will help you attach your piece to the installation where you like.
Options:
Write the name of someone you love for whom your vote will matter.
Write a wish or hope for our future government and fold it into a butterfly.
Write about a political issue you’ve cared about for a long time and fold it into a cicada.
Write about a past election, millage, or ballot initiative that impacts you to this day and fold it into a rose
Write, create, & contribute as many representations as you’d like!”
