“Site-specific and temporary installations made from waste challenge traditional art norms of portability and permanence. They underscore location and context as significant parts of the artwork, emphasizing that space is not just a mere existence backdrop, but is shaped by our perceptions, experiences, and emotions. I wanted to look out the window, an installation created at the Kansas City Art Institute in the sculpture studio, consists of a tall cardboard tunnel leading to a window, allowing a single person to enter, challenging school rules that inhibit window-gazing, therefore, serving as a private oasis in a public space.”
