This was the second in a series of tableaus of half-sized figures constructed out of trash. This scene depicts an intrusion by squirrels into our kitchen when my girlfriend Amanda and I lived in Auburn Hills (at the intersection of Squirrel Rd no less!) We were asleep in bed one early morning when Amanda sat up, said, “they’re here”, and then traipsed into the kitchen to confront a squirrel on our kitchen countertop. She and the squirrel scared each other and she then got to witness where the squirrel’s hidey-hole was to get into the kitchen that we were then able to seal off later that day.
