Detail 1
This installation was part of a faculty exhibition at Oakland University which I feel fortunate to be a part of since I was an adjunct instructor there for only one year. In my 19 years of teaching at 7 different colleges I have only ever been in one other faculty exhibition at Wayne State University where I also only adjuncted for one year. It’s a real challenge to put together an exhibition of faculty members where everyone’s work is so different and everyone is guaranteed a piece in the show. I intentionally designed my installation to be jammed in an undesirable corner so that I could take up as much space without interfering with anyone else’s work. This piece was something of an amalgamation of previous pieces: the pink and green parachutes from Untitled (Belle Isle), the used clothing from Dream House: Clothes Pit, and the white plastic grocery bags from Precipitation.
